𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟒𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭 "𝑨𝒎 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒎 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒕" By vigilance and courage. The 42nd Regiment of Foot was one of the most famous and respected Highland regiments in the British Army. Originally raised in 1725 from loyal Scottish Highland clans, the regiment earned the nickname “Black Watch” due to the dark tartan they wore and their original role patrolling the Scottish Highlands.
