Description
中国人民武装警察部队前身是1949年8月成立的中国人民公安中央纵队，隶属中央公安部，担负中央机关首长和首都北京的警卫任务。此后历经多次改编，先后使用过中国人民解放军公安部队、中国人民解放军公安军等名称。 1982年6月，中共中央决定将中国人民解放军担负内卫执勤任务的部队同义务兵役制的武装、边防、消防警察统一组建为“中国人民武装警察部队”。1983年4月5日，武警总部正式宣布成立。2018年1月1日起，武警部队由党中央、中央军委集中统一领导，实行“中央军委-武警部队-部队”领导指挥体制，不再列国务院序列。
