Description
Area-48 is a Top-Secret Research, Development, and Emergency Containment Area located somewhere in the United States and is currently the largest and most important Foundation facility currently in operation. Area-48 was established during 1957 as the Foundation’s main hub for containment and research in the U.S, it was designed to be scalable and capable of holding hundreds of anomalies. Its enormous size allows it to serve as an emergency shelter for anomalies that cannot be safely secured elsewhere. When an Area or Site is compromised, anomalous objects and personnel are transferred to Area-48, this has happened numerous times in the past, and the facility has grown in both size and importance. In some cases, entire facility evacuations have ended with anomalies being brought directly into Area-48, leading to overcrowding and containment risks. These risks are tolerated because the alternative (aka losing the anomalies) would be far worse.
