Description
The Cascadia Parks and Recreation Department (CPRD) was founded in 1908 to conserve the state’s public lands and provide accessible outdoor recreation. Beginning with only a few parks and historic sites, the department expanded rapidly through early conservation efforts and mid-century development programs that established trails, campgrounds, and protected natural areas. Today, CPRD manages Cascadia’s state parks, forests, and recreation sites, promoting environmental stewardship and offering residents and visitors a wide range of outdoor activities across the state’s diverse landscapes.
