Corpo de Voluntários da Pátria #233774139
Description
𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐎 𝐃𝐄 𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐍𝐓Á𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐒 𝐃𝐀 𝐏Á𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐀 Raised by imperial decree in 1865, the corps was formed from citizens across Brazil’s provinces who volunteered to defend the nation and the honor of Emperor Dom Pedro II. Though many were civilians before enlistment, the Volunteers fought alongside the regular army as disciplined infantry, enduring harsh campaigns, disease, and brutal battles on foreign soil. The Corps symbolizes sacrifice, patriotism, and unity, standing as a testament to Brazil’s largest and most demanding war effort.
