Description
During the Vietnam War, the Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) operated as highly specialized, clandestine "commando" style units, often referred to by the Viet Cong as Ma Rung ("phantoms of the jungle"). Their primary role was long-range reconnaissance, ambush, and direct-action tasks in Phuoc Tuy Province and surrounding areas.
