Description

Pacific Area (PACAREA) is one of the two geographically organized Areas in the U.S. Coast Guard. Headquartered in Alameda, California, it encompasses less than Atlantic Area, but has to take care of the Pacific Ocean, as well as ice operations for the Coast Guard. PACAREA is comprised of one cutter, two Deployable Specialized Forces (DSFs), and Coast Guard Island.
