Styper is a christian metal band from orange county,California. Formed in 1983. Stryper enjoyed stryper became very faumos in the 1980s,they made one platinum and two golds, in 1992 they broke up for a period of 12 years once the 12 years ended they reunited in 2003 and have made two albums since they broke up. The they got the name stryper from the verse Isaiah 53:5- "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Stryperstrademark logo has yellow and black stripes. Once the band embraced the name of Stryper, drummer Robert Sweet created a backronym which is: Salvation Through Redemption, Yielding Peace, Encouragement, and Righteousness. The members are Michael Sweet (Guitar) Oz Fox (Guitar) Robert Sweet (Drums) Tim Gaines (Bass guitar & keyboards) Tracy Ferrie (New Bass guitar). You dont have to be religious to join this group.
