Description
Roane County, Tennessee (1930s Roleplay) Set in eastern Tennessee during the interwar years, Roane County is a rural Appalachian foothills county of rolling farmland, wooded ridges, small towns, and isolated hollows. The Great Depression shapes daily life—money is scarce, work is uncertain, and most families rely on land, labor, and community ties to survive. Automobiles exist, but dirt roads, wagons, and long walks remain common. County government handles most affairs, while the State of Tennessee feels distant, appearing mainly through inspections, paperwork, or rare emergencies. Life is quiet and routine by day, with the countryside growing dark and isolated after nightfall. This is a long-term, whitelisted roleplay focused on realism, atmosphere, and slow-burn storytelling. Factions include: • Civilians & Homesteaders • Roane County Government • Roane County Sheriff’s Office • Tennessee National Guard (117th Infantry & 115th Field Artillery – event-based) • State/Federal Office
