Description
The St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad (SLR) is a 157-mile short line railroad that interchanges with its sister railroad, the Saint Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad (Quebec) (SLQ), and Canadian National, New Hampshire & Vermont Railroad, New Hampshire Central Railroad, and Pan Am Railways. Commodities transported include aggregates, brick and cement, chemicals, food and feed products, forest products, intermodal, and steel and scrap. The SLR has a 35-acre intermodal facility in Auburn, ME, providing New England with double-stack container service via Canadian National. This gateway is the only C-TPAT-certified facility in New England. The SLR was acquired by Genesee & Wyoming in 2002.
