Description
Markarth, or The City of Stone, is the capital of the Reach, a large mountainous region in the southwest of Skyrim called the Druadach Mountains. Markarth was built on top of the ancient Dwemer city of Nchuanda-Zel, and the upper halls were repurposed for the people and the jarl. The seat of power in Markarth was the Understone Keep, and old Dwemer hall on the upper areas of the city. The Reach has great natural wealth of Silver, Iron, and granite,which are harvested from the sigmund mines from prisoner labour, allowing it to trade with the other holds for food and other resources. The Reach although naturally defensible with mountains, is littered with Foresworn, dangerous brigands which are native to the region.
