The Royal Air Force Police is the service police branch of the Royal Air Force. Established in 1918, it is responsible for policing, security, and force protection across RAF stations worldwide. Its duties include investigating crime, safeguarding personnel and information, counter-intelligence support, and protecting aircraft and assets. Specialised units provide close protection and deploy on operations overseas. As part of the UK’s armed forces policing community, the RAF Police upholds discipline, enforces military law, and helps ensure the security and operational effectiveness of RAF personnel and installations.
