selling. Ny Sar was the location of Princess Nymeria's palace and was one of the many Rhoynish cities left in ruins following the Second Spice War. Maester Yandel describes it as a "city of fountains, alive with song". After the defeat of Prince Garin's host by the Volantenes and their Valyrian kin at Volantis during the Second Spice War, Princess Nymeria, fearing the enslavement of the people of her own city, gathered every ship that remained upon the Rhoyne and filled them full of as many women and children as they could carry (for almost all the men of fighting age had marched with Garin, and died). Nymeria then led these ten thousand ships down the Rhoyne past Sarhoy and into the Summer Sea, whereafter they arrived at Dorne.[2] Today, the ruins of Nymeria's palace is all that remains; a colossal palace of pink and green marble, its collapsed domes and broken spires looming large above a row of covered archways.
