【Byzantine Empire】 【Genre: The Third Crusade】 The remaining eastern half of the once powerful Roman Empire, ruled by the Emperors in Constantinople, guided by the Senate. While originally calling for help from the Pope, the Crusaders sacked Constantinople instead which caused the Empire to sign a treaty with the Ayyubid and Seljuk Sultanates.
