𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐃𝐎𝐌 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 EST. 7/14/2020 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Under the reign of Louis XIV ''The Sun King'', France was the dominant power in Europe, aided by the diplomacy, piety and genius of Cardinal Richelieu; and later - Cardinal Mazarin. Louis XIV continued his predecessors' work of creating a centralized state governed from the capital of Paris. He sought to eliminate the remnants of feudalism still persisting in parts of France and, by compelling the noble elite to regularly inhabit his lavish Palace of Versailles. During Louis' long reign, France was the leading European power, and it fought two major wars: The War of the League of Augsburg, and the War of the Spanish Succession. In peacetime, he concentrated on preparing for the next war. He taught his diplomats that their job was to create tactical and strategic advantages for the French military. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ An active faction in the community of Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité.
