Description

The Red Squadron was part of the 3 coloured squadrons that the Royal Navy had in the early 19th century which were the Red, White, and Blue squadrons. The Red Squadron was active from 1596 to 1864 and was the senior squadron usually placed in the centre of the line of battle, and always led by the commander-in-chief of the fleet, initially the Admiral of England, later called Lord Admiral until the creation of the rank of Admiral of the Fleet in 1688. The Red Squadron is a faction that operates in a game called Port Rooke developed by helloofmynameispeter and is run by the Port Rooke Roleplay Community. The ship that we sail is HMS Phoebe, a Fifth rate 36 guns Frigate which had seen actions in famous and not so famous battles throughout the Napoleonic Wars such as the battle of Trafalgar in 1805, Invasion of Java 1811, and the War of 1812.
