The 5th Rangers battalion Was formed on September 1st,1943 at Camp Forest. They fought on Omaha beach, Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Hunertgen Forest, and many more. By the end of their campaign the battalion had earned two distinguished unit citations and the French Croix De Guerre! This is a part of the of the Ranger Assault Group.
