Húŋkpapȟa Band #291608106
Description
The Húŋkpapȟa Lakȟóta are one of the seven bands of the Lakȟóta (Western Sioux) Nation. Their name, Húŋkpapȟa, roughly translates to “Those Who Camp at the Entrance” or “Head of the Camp": The Húŋkpapȟa are especially known for their fierce independence and resistance to U.S. expansion during the 19th century. Spiritually, the Húŋkpapȟa followed traditional Lakȟóta beliefs centered on Wakȟáŋ Tȟáŋka (the Great Mystery), honoring ceremonies such as the Sun Dance, vision quests, and sacred traditions tied to the land—especially the Black Hills (Pahá Sápa).

Growth
Growth history is still building. We hold one measurement for this entry. A trend needs at least two, taken days apart — so this will fill in on its own rather than being estimated. We do not publish numbers we have not measured.
