Description
仙台市 - City of Sendai Sendai began as a derelict fishing village in the northern region of Japan. It was not until the ascension of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his eventual dealings with Date Masamune that the city would receive much-needed attention. During his tenure as Daimyō of the Date, Masamune essentially rebuilt Sendai from the ground up, making it into one of the most recognisable cities in Japan and a testament to the power and influence that the Date consolidated under his reign.
