𝑰𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑷𝑬𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑬, 𝑳𝑰𝑩𝑬𝑹𝑻𝒀, 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑱𝑼𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑪𝑬 In December of 1826, 30 militia seized the Old Stone Fort in Nacogdoches and declared independence from Mexico, forming the Republic of Fredonia. This rebellion lasted 44 days until Mexican forces, backed by Texian militia, restored order. Founded 12/27/19
