The 4th Regiment of Foot or The King's Own Royal Regiment was an infantry regiment that served during both the American War for Independence and the Napoleonic Wars. The regiment was raised on the 13th of July, 1680 by Charles FitzCharles, the first Earl of Plymouth. In 1751 it was titled the 4th (King's Own) Regiment of Foot.
