Description
During the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), a major administrative reform took place in 1892 to modernize the Siamese government. As part of this reform, the Ministry of the Royal Household (Krasuang Wang) was established as one of the twelve ministries. Its main responsibility was to manage affairs related to the royal court and the monarchy. The ministry oversaw royal ceremonies, supervised court officials and attendants, managed properties and assets connected to the King, and handled matters within the palace. The establishment of this ministry reflected King Chulalongkorn’s efforts to centralize authority and reorganize the government along more modern and systematic lines.
