The Hostage Rescue Team is a federally-sanctioned Tier 1 special operations unit and the United States' premier hostage rescue and counterterrorism force. Operating under the Critical Incident Response Group, HRT is tasked with the nation's most sensitive and high-risk missions — where failure is not an option. HRT maintains an uncompromising standard of conduct, discipline, and operational performance. Membership is exclusive, selective, and earned.
