The Vault-Tec corporation was a pre-war organization who built "safe places" around the United States in the case of a nuclear war. These safe places were referred to as vaults, and had a limited space in each. These vaults were marketed as safe places in the case of a nuclear war, but were really experiments, with only a few being control vaults with no experiment. "Revolutionizing safety for an uncertain future!"
