Description

⁕ ″ “In the halls of the Morwencliffe name, dignity is taught as duty, and discipline as inheritance. A rose will bloom, then shall wilt.” The Estate reflects on Its History; the age of the manor has long passed built in 1721 by Father Mortimer Morwencliffe with the Intention of serving the community and congregation under the support of Military organizations and government, welcoming all as the hall became an emblem of unity with the Morwencliffe Family. Hosting social and ball gatherings often held in the estate, however the manor's tranquil legacy was disrupted during the war of 1812 and was repurposed as a resting point & medical ward for American Soldiers. On the Friday night of December 13th, 1813, tragedy struck during a ball meant to honor the returning troops as a bomb dropped on their roof. Surviving heir commissioned partial renovation in 1869; citizens recall this tragedy 'the last supper' as believing: [redacted]: "those who cried that evening never stopped."
