𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚 The Saint Lucian Parliament is a bicameral institution. The country operates on a system of parliamentary government, in which parties elected to the House of Representatives form a government either by majority, coalition, or in some cases minority. The House of Assembly is the elected first chamber, which the Government is drawn from. It is responsible for a number of functions which include drafting legislation and debating issues of national importance. The Senate consists of members appointed by the King, from different fields and backgrounds. It is responsible for debating potential laws and submitting a report of expertise-based recommendations to the House.
