Road To Survival: Camp Tabbytowick #3161831
Description
Just outside of Boise, Idaho, is a ranch on Native American-owned land that provides services to at-risk youth from all across the area. Troubled teenagers come to Camp Tabbytowick to learn values like discipline and hard work through activities like hiking, archery, and horseback riding. When the outbreak signaled the end of modern civilization, most of the ranch's young wards and staff tried to return home. A few dozen stayed, hoping to ride out the pandemic until military assistance could arrive. It didn't. Using the resources around them such as horses, a privatized running-water system and hunting gear, both the campgoers and the the remaining camp workers banded together to fortify the ranch and make it a self-sustainable place where all survivors are welcome. The Idaho Native Americans were named "The People of the Sunrise". In Shoshone, Tabbytowick means sunrise. Camp Tabbytowick, even after the collapse of the modern era, still strives to maintain hope.
