🏹KRONOBERGS ⭐"GENOM ELD OCH ASKA" 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 The regiment has its origins in fänikor (companies) raised in the local county in the 16th century. In 1616, these units—along with fänikor from the nearby Kalmar County—were organised by Gustav II. Smålands storregemente, of which twelve of the total 24 companies were recruited in locally. Sometime around 1623, the grand regiment was permanently split into three smaller regiments. The regiment partook in the Battle of POltava 1709, in which the regimental standard got captured and the entire regiment was put into a POW camp. But in the same year, the regiment was recreated in Småland. During the 18th century, the Kingdom of Sweden did not partake in any big wars and refrained from using it's max army capability. But after the Treaty of Fredrikshamn in 1809, the Swedish state realized it's weakened 𝐄𝐍𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 Conscription
