𝟑. 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The 3. Infanteriregiment, also known as the 3rd Infantry Regiment, played a significant role in the Second Schleswig War between Denmark and Prussia/Austria in 1864. The regiment was mobilized in January 1864, and its soldiers were mainly recruited from the island of Funen in Denmark. The regiment was stationed in Jutland and was part of the Danish army's 2nd Division, which was tasked with defending the northern part of the country. During the war, the 3rd Infantry Regiment saw action in several battles, including the Battle of Sankelmark on February 6, 1864, and the Battle of Dybbøl on April 18, 1864. The regiment suffered heavy losses in both battles, and many of its soldiers were taken as prisoners of war by the Prussian and Austrian forces.
