Description
𝙂𝘼𝙇𝙇𝙄𝘼 𝙍𝙊𝙈𝘼𝙉𝘼 After Julius Caesar’s conquest of Gaul, the vast territory is brought under Roman control and reorganized not as a kingdom, but as a fully integrated Roman-held land governed through imperial authority. Instead of kings, Rome appoints governors and military commanders who enforce Roman law, collect taxes, and maintain order across the divided Gallic regions. Former tribal territories are reorganized into Roman administrative districts, with cities like Lugdunum becoming key centers of governance, culture, and military coordination. Local Gallic elites are gradually incorporated into Roman society, granted citizenship, and used to stabilize Roman rule from within rather than through constant warfare. Though its Celtic identity does not disappear, Gallia is reshaped by Roman infrastructure, language, and military presence, turning it into one of the most strategically important western holdings of the empire.
