𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐃𝐒 ; 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐀 ▬ 🎓 The Neolaia are the young aspirants of the Hypaspistai — the next generation of Macedon’s shield-bearers. Drawn from the most promising sons of the kingdom, they undergo rigorous martial and civic training within the royal agōgē, learning discipline, endurance, and the sacred duty of service to the king. 🏛️ Each Neolaian trains with spear and aspis, studies formation tactics, and accompanies the Hypaspistai on campaigns to learn the art of war firsthand. They are forged through hardship, their youth tempered by the ideals of honor, obedience, and unity. 🛡️ To be a Neolaian is to walk the path toward greatness — to prove one’s worth before earning the silver shield and joining the ranks of the king’s chosen guard. They are the heartbeat of Macedon’s future, the heirs to the shield that never falls.
