The Varrio Tortilla Flats gang, also known as VTF, is a notorious criminal organization that has been active in, California, since the 1950s. The gang is known for its violent tactics and involvement in #### trafficking, robbery, and other serious crimes. The VTF gang was originally formed in the late 1940s by a group of Mexican-American youths who lived in the south central area. At the time, south central was a predominantly white suburb, and the Mexican-American population was often subjected to discrimination and violence. The VTF gang was formed as # ### for these youths to protect themselves and their community from the racism and violence they faced. In the early days, the VTF gang was relatively small and had a strong sense of community. Members would often gather at a local park, known as Tortilla Flats, to hang out and socialize.
