Tatmadaw Engineering Corps #32334511
Description
Engineering units, known as the Engineering Corps, known in Myanmar as အင်ဂျင်နီယာတပ်ဖွဲ့, under the command of the Directorate of Engineers, form the Tatmadaw’s primary organization for combat and military engineering operations. Built around Engineer Battalions and Battle Engineer (BE) units, the corps provides essential support for mobility, fortification, and sustainment across all major formations. The Engineering Corps is structured to support both high-intensity conventional operations and extended field deployments, emphasizing route clearance, bridging, obstacle breaching, and infrastructure construction rather than direct maneuver combat. Its units are typically attached to Regional Military Commands, Light Infantry Divisions, and the Armoured Operation Command to enable movement, secure key terrain, and support large-scale operations.
