The Imperial Advanced Weapons Research, or known as the Imperial Department of Military Advanced Research was an agency of the Galactic Empire responsible for the development of emerging technologies for use by the Imperial Military. Weapons development fell under the arm of Imperial Intelligence, while it looked to the Imperial Security Bureau to defend the agency's secrets. The Imperial Advanced Weapons Research is the Development Group for the First Galactic Empire, while it may be part of the Empire it is used for Developers.
