Shimazu Clan - 島津 氏 Sengoku Jidai period ~1570 - 戦国時代 忠 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 忠 The Shimazu clan was a prominent and well known southern power in Japan. Starting in the late 12th century, Shimazu Tadahisa, formerly known as Koremune Tadahisa, was granted land in the southern part of Kyushu in the Province of Satsuma. There the Shimazu clan was established.
