Description
Mapayapa, known in English as the Mapayapa Faction, is one of the factions that arose in the late 1890s. This faction, unlike many of the rest, started out in Bicol. The faction based itself on striving to achieve the ideal method of self-governance for the common Filipino person. As the divisions and cracks rose amongst the ranks of the Katipunan, the Mapayapa Faction sought to live up to its name, and advocated for peace between the warring factions to support the idea of the Filipino identity and the nation. The Magdi and Magdalo Factions have since been allied with Mapayapa, but Mapayapa regards itself closer to the Magdi Administration.
