Welcome to the Comoros! A captivating volcanic archipelago situated off the eastern coast of Africa, amidst the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean in the Mozambique Channel. The nation encompasses several islands, the largest of which, Grande Comore, boasts stunning beaches and showcases remnants of ancient lava flows from the ever-active Mount Karthala volcano. Mwali and Anjouan to the east of Grande Comore, are the other autonomous islands of the Comoros, brewing with secessionist intent while the federal government grapples to combat rampant organized crime.
