🧨Battery A, 1st New Jersey Light Artillery 🥁"Hexamer's" 🌿Brooklyn's History Battery A "Hexamer's Battery", of the 1st New Jersey Light Artillery, also known as the "German Battery", was formed under the command of Capt. William Hexamer. A revolutionary, who's failure and exile lead him to America. Hexamer formed his militia battery, then known as the "Hudson County Artillery", which got adopted as Battery A into the civil war. Compromised mainly of German immigrants, the battery fought famously at the battles of Yorktown, Antietam, Fredericksburg, the Mud March, Gettysburg, the Wilderness, and Petersburg. 🎺 Why Should You Join?
