Description
Long before the arrival of European explorers and settlers, Cascada was home to a diverse range of indigenous peoples, who lived off the land and developed complex social, cultural, and religious traditions. In the 16th century, Spanish explorers arrived in Cascada establishing the first European settlements and missions. Over the next several centuries, the state was ruled by various colonial powers, including Mexico and the United States. During the 19th century, the Cascada Gold Rush brought an influx of settlers and fortune seekers to the region, transforming the state's economy and culture.
