Description
The Los Azules Police Department was established in 1869. During its early years, the LAPD was primarily responsible for enforcing city ordinances and keeping the peace in a rapidly growing city. In the years that followed, the department became renowned for its aggressive tactics, particularly in dealing with labor unrest and political dissidents. In the 1940s and 1950s, the LAPD was at the forefront of the fight against organized crime, and its officers became legendary figures in popular culture.
