SATA (Sociedade Açoreana de Transportes Aéreos) is an airline based in the Azores, Portugal. It was founded in 1941 as a division of TAP Air Portugal. Later, in 1958, SATA became an autonomous entity. Initially, the airline operated regional flights within the Azores. Over time, SATA expanded its route network, including flights to mainland Europe and North America.
