𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐉𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐀 The gens Julia was one of the most prominent patrician families in ancient Rome. Members of the gens attained the highest dignities of the state in the earliest times of the Republic. Notable members include Gaius Julius Caesar and his adopted son Gaius Octavius Thurinus, later known as Augustus Caesar, the first Roman Emperor. The gens Julia played a big role in the transition from the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire, leaving a lasting impact on Roman history.
