Description
THE BYZANTINE EMPIRE ═══════════════════════════════════════════ The Byzantine Empire, the undeniable superpower of the Medieval World. The Byzantine Empire succeeded Rome as the largest, cultural-dominant and greatest military power in the Medieval world. The roots of the Byzantine Empire started as a minor Greek colony called Byzantium on the land in between Greece and Asia Minor, then upon Constantine declaring it as Rome's new capital, it grew into a prosperous, well-known, and large city. Upon the split of the Roman Empire into east and west, the Byzantine Empire had greater success and longer life out of the two Roman Empires. At it's height in 555 AD, it encompassed Italy, the Balkans, Judea, and most of Northern Africa. Byzantium offers a wide central idea of civilization to all new comers that wish to experience true Byzantine culture. Byzantium strives for historical accuracy to a height unlike any other nation in the Medieval genre.
