𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐒 𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒐! 𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝑮𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒅!” The Army of the Republic of Texas was the land military force of the Republic of Texas. It succeeded the Texian revolutionary forces raised in October 1835, during the struggle for independence from Mexico and was later organized under the authority granted by the Constitution of the Republic of Texas in September 1836. After the disbanding of most volunteer units following independence, the government established a small regular army to provide garrisons and national defense while militia and ranging companies remained the primary field forces.
