Description
훈련도감은 조선 후기에 설치되었던 중앙군영이다. 훈국이라고도#한다. 임진왜란 중인 1593년(선조 26) 8월에 임시기구로 설치되었다가 1746년(영조 22) 『속대전』에 상설기구로서 법전에 규정되었다. 임진왜란에서 조선군이 왜군에 참패하자 당장의 전쟁을 수행하고, 나아가 발전된 사회상에 맞는 군사제도를 갖추기 위해 군사조직의 재정비가 불가피하게 되었다. 이에 따라 중앙에 급료병으로서 새 군사편제에 의해 설치한 것이 훈련도감이다. 5군영의 중심 군영 역할을 수행 하고 있다.
