Description

The Lakeview Park Fire Company (LPFC) was formed in 1823 after a major fire destroyed much of the town center. It began as a volunteer brigade using bucket lines and basic tools to fight fires. As the town expanded, LPFC grew into a more organized company, introducing hand-pulled and later horse-drawn apparatus in the 1800s. In the 20th century, the department modernized with motorized engines, a permanent firehouse, and standardized training. Over time, increasing demand led LPFC to become a combination department, staffed by both career firefighters and dedicated volunteers. Today, LPFC provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services while continuing its long tradition of protecting the Lakeview Park community.
