𝐉𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒 Janissaries (Yeniçeri): The Janissaries were a renowned and elite infantry corps of the Ottoman Empire. Initially established as an elite force during the late 14th century, they were primarily recruited from young boys who were converted and trained as loyal soldiers to the Sultan. However, by the Napoleonic Era, the Janissaries had become entrenched and resistant to change, resisting modernization efforts. While they still enjoyed prestige and influence, their conservative nature hindered the Ottoman military from adapting to more contemporary European tactics and weaponry
