Description

Hailing from the nightmarish and toxic world of Barbarus, the Death Guard are distinguished by their grim and stoic demeanour. Their disciplined nature is most often reflected in their battlefield strategies, where they often rely on a slow but inexorable advance that ground their enemies down to nothing over time. They display a willingness to absorb massive casualties in pursuit of victory, a testament to their unwavering loyalty to their Primarch. Mortarion's leadership style reflects on the grim realities of his past, and before his fall to the corruptive influence of the Chaos God Nurgle, he instilled in his Legion a sense of duty and responsibility to protect humanity from the myriad of dangers within the galaxy. While the Death Guard are not known for flashy or overt displays of martial prowess, their commitment to their mission and their ability to outlast adversaries have earned them a respected place amongst the Emperor's, and later the Warmaster's forces.
