𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧'𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 The Sharpshooters early creation began when Colonel Hiram Berdan was commissioned to find the best of the best shots across the nation. Each Sharpshooter was required to consecutively hit a target 10 times at an extensive range of 200 yards with only a 5 inch radius from the initial shot. Taking part in the majority of skirmishes, battles and campaigns of the Eastern Theatre the sharpshooters utilized camouflage and the forests for concealment. High priority targets such as NCOs and Officers were the standard of kills.
