TIMELINE: 1860-1868 ----------------------------------- CONFLICT: - American Civil War - Indian Wars WAR THEATERS: - Eastern Theater (ACW) - Western Theater (ACW) - Trans-Mississippi Theater (ACW) ----------------------------------- A service branch of the United States government was created in 1784 after the American Revolutionary War and in the Congress of Confederation. Since then, procedural decades of conflicts beforehand with the old foes of Britain in 1812, Mexico in 1846, and now native tribes westwards. However, one civil war would set a prolonged conflict between Union and Southern States in 1861, pitting brothers against brothers.
